Hello! I am Josie and I would like to extend a warm welcome to your card making and craft week.
I thought I had retired from teaching, but with a lifetime interest in crafts ( with a particular passion for Chinese painting, encaustic art and now iconography) I miss the buzz and fun of a craft group so, with my daughter, we set up our card making and craft holidays last year.
In the past I have been a course leader / tutor for H.F. Holidays and have taught adult education crafts in Northampton and Wiltshire, for a time having my own craft studio. Now I enjoy card making and iconography. Poetry has a place in my life, as does writing long letters to my friends.
Hi! My name is Josephine. Unlike my mother Josie, I am a recent convert to the world of arts and crafts. I am now completely absorbed in card production, having discovered a latent talent for design.
I have a background in journalism and marketing, covering both the military and commercial sectors. In my spare time I write poetry and that unfinished book which we have in all of us! I am interested in the history and culture of this lovely island.
I will be happy to share my knowledge and to advise you on areas of particular interest.
ABOUT LINDOS
Located on Rhodes Island, the part of Greece nearest to Turkey, Lindos is an whitewashed village perched on a rocky outcrop leading down to the sea. The Acropolis rising above gives it unique character. The village is a labyrinth of tiny streets and donkeys carry visitors up the steep slopes to the Acropolis. The beaches are magnificent, the sea is blue and the weather perfect! But no ‘guide book’ type of description can prepare you for the sheer beauty of this place. It has to be seen to be believed. To say that visitors always return sums up the wonderful views, the three sandy beaches, and the open and friendly greek village atmosphere.
